Teen actress Sophia Lillis was born in Crown Heights, Brooklyn on February 13; she started her acting career at the age of seven when her step-father selected her for a role in his film class project. He later encouraged her to take acting classes at Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York City.

Sophia started her on-screen career with the short film The Lipstick Stain (2014) and that same year the feature A Midsummer Night's Dream as Rude Elemental. Two years later she appeared in the feature “37” a drama based on the night Kitty Genovese was murdered in 1964, Kew Gardens, Queens, where 37 neighbors witnessed and did nothing. She also played Luc that year in the short “The Garden.”

The following year in 2017 she landed her breakout role by playing Beverly Marsh in the hit horror film remake of “It”, Sophia has received critical acclaim for her performance in the film. The same year she also filmed the shorts “Sia: Santa's Coming for Us” and “Tiny Mammals.”  She will also play Nancy in Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase, Young Beverly for the second time in It Chapter Two and Gretel in Gretel & Hansel – the upcoming reimagining of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale. Sophia is also listed to play Celia in The Burning Season which is in early production.

On television she was seen on the UFC style Movie Trivia Competition series “Movie Trivia Schmoedown” and as herself on Made in Hollywood (2017) and as a presenter on “2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards.” Sophia also played  Young Camille on the mini-series “Sharp Objects” (2018). She will also play Sydney in the new series I Am Not Okay with This coming in 2020.
