Teen actor Michael Rainey Jr. was born on September 22, 2000, he landed his first role in the film "Un Altro Mondo" alongside Silvion Muccino after he appeared in the video "Regalo Pui Grande," by Tizziano Ferro. It was then that Rainey was spotted by Silvio Muccino and Carla Vangelista while writing the screenplay for the movie and this landed him a lead role in the movie playing the character "Charlie." For the role, Michael spent some time living in Italy to help prepare him for the role which led to him being able to speak Italian for his role.

Michael made his American film debut in the Sheldon Candis film "LUV" acting alongside talents such as Danny Glover, Charles S. Dutton, and Common. In the poignant and gritty coming-of-age film, an 11-year-old boy gets a crash course in what it means to be a man by spending the day with the uncle he idolizes. His performance earned him a Breakout Performance award at the Dallas International Film Festival. He also appeared in The Butler (2013) and played Jalen the son of Ice Cube for Barbershop: A Fresh Cut  (2016). He is rumored to be playing Michael in the announced Cooking4Luv (2016) and look for him in "Amateur" (2017) as Terron Forte and "#211" (2017) as Kenny.

On TV he played the recurring roles of Michael in Orange Is the New Black and  Power as Tariq St. Patrick. Michael also appeared in the TV movie Second Chance Christmas

He enjoys music, takes piano lessons and in his spare time, he enjoys making his own music. Keep your eyes on Michael as he seems ready to make a big movie in his acting career.
